I’ve designed more than 100 website pages in the past 12 months. After reviewing over 1000 websites, I created this checklist that I follow step by step when designing and developing websites for my clients.
This knowledge will help you:
See why these strategies work in real life
Avoid the mistakes that make websites fail
Easily add growth and more revenue to your business
In Cameroon today, more people are coming online every single day. If your website is not fast, reliable, and user-friendly, you will lose customers before they even hear your story. That’s why having a clear website launch checklist is so important.
By the end of this post, you’ll know exactly how I prepare and launch websites for my clients, the same process I used when building the STEM University website.
Think of it like this. Imagine visiting a new store but the shelves are empty. You would walk away. A broken or confusing website feels the same to your visitors.
A launch checklist is what makes sure your site is ready.
It’s not just design, it’s testing, fixing errors, and making sure the site matches your business goals.
For entrepreneurs in Cameroon, this matters even more. A professional site builds trust. People are more likely to believe in a business with a polished website than one that only has a Facebook page.
In places like Douala or Yaoundé where competition is tough, a good-looking website with testimonials can set you apart from others.

First, you need to be clear about your website’s purpose. Do you want to sell products, collect leads, or share your story? When I worked on the STEM University website, the goal was simple: attract students and give them clear information about programs and fees.
Once you know your goal, think about who your visitors are. Parents? Students? Local customers? That guides the way your website looks and the words you use.
Your domain should be short and easy to remember. For STEM University, the domain (stemuedu.com) clearly reflects education and credibility.
Hosting matters too. Don’t pick the cheapest option. Choose one that keeps your website live and loads fast. Reliable hosting means your site won’t go down when many people visit at once.
Before launching, gather all your content: text, photos, videos, contacts. Make sure every program, product, or service is well explained.
For STEM University, we created program descriptions, tuition details, and clear contact options. Each page had a proper title and description so Google can index it. Simple SEO plugins on WordPress make this easy.
Most people in Cameroon use their phones to browse. If your site looks messy on a small screen, you lose customers.
When building STEM University’s site, I tested every page on mobile first. Menus, forms, and images worked perfectly on phones. I also compressed images and used a light theme to make the site load faster.
This is the most overlooked step. Go through every page as if you were a visitor. Click every link. Fill out every form.
When STEM University was about to launch, we tested the application form, the contact page, and even small links in the footer. We fixed errors before students or parents ever saw them.
STEM University wanted a professional website to attract students. We followed the same checklist:
Clear goals: Show programs and boost enrollment.
Strong domain and hosting: Reliable and easy to remember.
Full content: Programs, fees, and admission details ready before launch.
Mobile-first design: Students could apply directly from their phones.
Testing: Every form and button checked before going live.
The result? A smooth launch. Within weeks, students started using the site to get information and contact the school directly. That’s what happens when you launch with a proper checklist.
This checklist is what I use for every project. I build websites on WordPress because it’s simple, powerful, and easy to manage. Clients don’t need to know coding.
With over 5 years of experience, I make sure every site I launch is mobile-friendly, secure, and optimized for growth.
After launch, I give a 2-hour training session where I show my clients how to update content, upload photos, and post news by themselves.
That means you don’t depend on me for every small change. You save money and stay in control of your business.
If you’re a Cameroonian entrepreneur and you’re ready to launch a website that works, I can help.
